"H. P."

A number of slides are known that bear the initials "H.P.", originating from the UK. All are thin sections of teeth, from modern and fossil animals. That bias suggests that "H.P." was a dental researcher. I am not aware of any duplicate slides, implying that the maker was an amateur, probably preparing these slides for their own use.

None of these slides are dated, nor are locations given. Any information on "H.P."’s identity will be greatly appreciated.

Figure 1. Microscope slides by "H.P.". Both are thin sections of animal teeth.

Figure 2. Longitudinal section of "fossil tooth of Lamna" (a genus of shark), prepared by "H.P.". Imaged with a 3.5x objective lens, crossed polarizing filters, and a C-mounted SLR digital camera on a Leitz Ortholux II microscope.
